McClendon joins fine arts department

Watch out fine arts students, a new Lead Fine Arts Instructor is in the house.
Michelle McClendon, the new Lead Fine Arts Instructor, is from Fort Scott. She is married to Bret McClendon and has two daughters, Sydney and Josie. She chose Butler because El Dorado is a good place for her husband to find a job and she hoped that a full time position would be available for her.

Parking: an on going problem

Getting a parking space close to your dorm or classroom can be difficult, as parking is limited on the Butler Campus. However, taking shortcuts by parking illegally will only result in more time-consuming trouble.
During enrollment, students with cars that they plan to keep on campus are required to get a parking permit.

Butler courses strive to build leaders

Disability services move to new location

The Disability Services of Andover has moved to the 5000 building. It is currently under the Academic Achievement Center, AAC. The AAC was changed from under the Student Services division and is no longer a part of Academic Advising.
Disability Services helps any student who has a permanent or temporary disability.

First home football game results in win

El Dorado turned out in full force to watch the Grizzlies first home football game at Galen Blackmore on Sept. 2 as Butler took on Garden City.
After blanking Kilgore, Texas last week the Butler defense continued their trend of dominance against a Broncbusters team that defeated #2 ranked Trinity Valley last week.

Coutts Museum brings Wichita to town

One of the most important art societies of the Wichita area, the Wichita Women Artists, is bring its art exhibit to El Dorado's own Coutts Museum of Art.
The exhibit opened the first of Sept. and will stay open until Sept. 27th. This is the second exhibit for the Wichita Women Artists in The COUTTS Museum of Art.

The Lady Grizzlies volleyball team returned home to the Power Plant Wednesday, Sept. 6 to take on Hesston Larks. Despite a late rally, the Grizzlies lost in five games. After a long weekend Coach Rick Younger said the team was unprepared for the challenge.

with KCTU Channel 5 in Wichita to televise its home football games this

The Lady Grizzlies volleyball team is enduring trial by fire but someone turned up the oven a bit too fast - too soon. Coach Rick Younger and the Grizzlies traveled to Columbus, NE for the Subway Classic over the weekend of Sept. 9-10.
This tournament was different in that only two victorious sets were needed instead of the usual three.

I remember that day very well. I was a freshman in high school but I was not in classes that day. I was at the Kansas State Fair performing in a horse show.

The Butler Grizzly cross-country team competed in the second meet of the season on Saturday at Rim Rock located in Lawrence. Rim Rock is one of the most difficult courses that the Grizzlies will face this season. Both the men and women were able to compete well on Saturday.
