He pitched 7 innings and had 5 strikeouts. Nick Cocking, Wichita freshman had a great game, as he drove in two runs and scored twice while hitting two for two at the plate. The Grizzlies were able to handle the Thunderbirds for one game. They were not able to handle them in the second game as Cloud County won 12 - 4. Cloud's winning pitcher was Nick Standish, Omaha, Neb. Freshman, he had 7 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

On Saturday, April 2, Butler started a two day, four game road trip to Concordia to take on Cloud County. The Grizzlies came out on top 15 - 1 in their first matchup. The winning pitcher was Taylor Berthusen, Shawnee freshman. The Grizzlies also had great performances out of the rest of their players. Many of them had multiple hits and scored lots of runs. In the second game of the day the Grizzlies didn't slow down their attack as they were able to win 13 – 3. This time the winning pitcher was Chase Haines, Stillwater freshamn.  "The team played well even in the games they lost and I am happy the way they played through the weekend." Coach B.J. McVay said.
